Ingredients
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp veg oil
1 tsp dried thyme
1 jar cannellini beans with liquid
salt and pepper
2 handfuls fresh spinach
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Method:
In a large skillet heat the oil and butter on medium-low until the butter melts. Add the beans and cook, stirring frequently for 4-5 minutes. Add the dried thyme, an extra drizzle of oil, the salt and pepper and the spinach. Stir occasionally as mixture simmers for 4-5 minutes. At the last minute stir in the balsamic vinegar. Serve as a side with meat or fish.

Been There, Done That
In Genesis 12: 10-20 we see Abram ask Sarai to pretend she is his sister so that Pharaoh will not kill Abram in order to have Sarai as a wife. They do this again while in the south near the territory of Abimelech, king of Gerar, in Genesis 20. It doesn’t go well for any of them when they perpetuate this lie. Then in Genesis 26 we see the same trick tried by Isaac when he tells the men of Gerar that Rebekah is his sister because he is afraid, “lest the men of the place kill me for Rebekah, because she is beautiful to behold,” Genesis 26:7c NKJV. As God is the God of truth and Jesus Himself declared He is “the way, the truth and the life,” John 14:6, and Titus tells us God cannot lie, Titus 1:2, we know that these deceptions do not please Him. In each instance, the lie is uncovered and the truth is discovered. How much better it is to walk in God’s ways of truth and honesty. Let’s strive to be honest with the Lord, with ourselves and with each other. Truth is the better way as it is His way!
